A Beacon of Hope for those in need of medical aid

Since 1979, Bombay Medical Aid Foundation has been a symbol of hope to several communities in India.  As a non-profit organization we have taken consistent steps towards giving financial aid to those in critical need of medical care and treatment.

Over the years, the Foundation has made colossal donations to community projects and welfare schemes to help people suffering from diseases like cancer, tuberculosis and heart-related ailments. Funds nearing the amount of Rs. 8 crores have been spent already towards funding these projects, all of which have done their part in securing a better future for those in need.

Our President’s Message

It is my privilege to be associated with Bombay Medical Aid Foundation as its President. I am honoured to serve the Foundation and to be able to contribute to its noble endeavour.

I take this opportunity to express my sincere good wishes to the entire fraternity of the Foundation who have made this Foundation what it is today.

In recent years, the demand for medical aid has been compelling. Our team has doubled its efforts in order to better respond to the urgency. The immediate focus and commitment is to further expand our medical facilities and charitable offerings. We have completed work on some of these projects; however, we still have a long way to go, such as expanding Palliative Care services, adding a state-of-art well equipped center for Diabetic Retinopathy and many such facilities.

On behalf of the Foundation, I convey my gratitude to all donors big and small and other well-wishers who enable us to meet the objectives and realize the vision of this Foundation.

Mr. Arun Saraf

Our journey since 1979

During the mid-seventies, cardiac surgery was still relatively new in our country. There were very few surgeons, who had the knowledge or expertise to operate upon patients in need of heart surgery. On the other hand, patients with heart diseases or cardiac problems too did not trust the medical help available to them. These factors along with the very high cost of surgery and post-operative disposables, valves, medicines etc. made it difficult for most people to get themselves or members of their family treated.

Late Mr. N. K Nautiyal

It was during this time that an 11-year-old boy in dire need of a heart valve surgery was operated upon, free of cost by eminent Cardiac Surgeon Dr. D. S. Saksena. This kind act surely saved that boy’s life, but it also laid the foundation of our organization, known as ‘Bombay Medical Aid Foundation’.

Our Mission

To serve humanity with love and devotion, by providing medical aid and other facilities to the underprivileged without discrimination and regardless of caste, creed or religion.

Causes we support

We undertake and develop projects to empower and build healthier and more resilient communities.

Be it financial help given to people who do not have the resources to cover their medical expenditures or setting up of specialized health camps, building an eye care centre, charitable general hospital or the construction of toilets and water restoration projects, Bombay Medical Aid Foundation is committed and dedicated to these causes.

Karmayogi Puraskar for 25 years

An annual event that honors the extraordinary and significant contributions of those who have served selflessly to uplift the underprivileged.

Bombay Medical Aid Foundation has been awarding the Karmayogi Puraskar to dedicated persons who have worked tirelessly and selflessly to ease suffering and to ensure better healthcare to an ailing humanity.

Karmayogi Puraskar was spontaneously started by Swami Ram Baba who was the patron saint of the Foundation.  At a fund raising program held at Birla Hall, he presented the 1st Karmayogi Puraskar to Dr. Dev Saksena for his humanitarian achievements and service.
